While you're visiting Lancaster County this fall, stop by our local breweries, which are turning out beers for every palate — from wheat beer and IPAs to stouts and seasonals. With numerous breweries within a short drive of The Lancaster Bed and Breakfast, there are plenty of tasting opportunities where you can find a style of beer that suits your mood and taste. Here are just a handful of our favorites we think you should check out during your next visit.

Rumspringa Brewing | 3174 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bird-in-Hand, PA
The area's first nano-brewery, Rumspringa Brewing Company is located on the second floor of the Mount Hope Wine Gallery. The word "rumspringa" loosely translates as "running around," and is used to describe the time when young members of the Amish community explore activities in the "outside world" before making the decision to join the church. The brewery produces tastes to satisfy everyone, from a citrusy IPA to a robust stout. Stop in for a tasting, and then purchase bottles and growlers to go.

Lancaster Brewing Company | 302 N. Plum St., Lancaster, PA

Iron Hill Brewery | 781 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA
Combine a craft brewery with a scratch kitchen and you've got Iron Hill Brewery. Even though there are 20 Iron Hill locations, their beers are brewed onsite at each and every one. The brewery's goal is to focus on small batches of beer in creative styles and flavors. With ample choices on tap and a vast tavern fare menu, you're sure to find drinks and eats to satisfy your palate.

Spring House Brewing Co. | 209 Hazel St., Lancaster, PA
Spring House Brewing Co. started brewing their craft beers in a 200-year-old barn. As the business grew, they moved into a renovated warehouse that houses the brewery, taproom and upscale pub. On the beer list you'll find year-round favorites like the Daily Planet Hazy IPA and seasonal specialties like the Braaaiins Pumpkin Ale. Check out their sister taprooms, too: The Coffin in downtown Lancaster and The Tavern in Strasburg.

Mad Chef Craft Brewing | 2023 Miller Road, East Petersburg, PA
